- Other Information: Tucked away in San Lorenzo, Italy, among the highest hills of the Prosecco region is Vigna San Lorenzo. This family ran winery is headed by husband and wife team Alberto and Marta Lorenzo. The Lorenzo’s tend to their four hectares with biodynamic and homeopathic methods, allowing the natural sunny environment of the region to shine through in the flavor of their grapes, as well as the moraine rich soil, which gives their wines a bright minerality and citrus aroma. The vineyards are also surrounded by woods, olive trees, hedges and fruit trees, to increase biodiversity as much as possible. The Lorenzo’s respect for the land carries over into their cellar, where all wines are vinified spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. This ‘Col Tamarie’ is a sparkling orange made with the traditional ancient method of fermentation used in the Prosecco region—fermentation in the bottle. A white blend of Glera, Boschera, Perera, Bianchetta, Grapariol, Verdiso, and Marzemina grapes are handpicked and vinified spontaneously without the addition of sulphur, followed by a two day maceration on the skins. Aged on its fine lees in steel containers before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
