- Other Information: When Italian couple and former architects, Massimo Marchiori and Antonella Gerona moved from Barcelona to the countryside of Massís de Bonastre there was only one problem—they couldn’t find the kinds of wines they wanted to drink. So they decided to make their own. They started looking locally for vineyards but most of them had been abandoned for years due to their old, low, yielding vines planted with forgotten varietals. But before long Marchiori and Gerona took right to working the clay and limestone soils biodynamically and with great care. And now this team makes some of the most incredible natural wines, saving the indegeinous varietals that locals had written off as no good. Partida Creus cultivates small plots without invasive mechanical work and chemicals. And they use the natural phases of the moon to inform their process. Though Marchiori and Gerona produce a limited amount of wines this way, all of them are of excellent biological quality, fresh and precise. This 'SP' ia made from 100% Subirat Parent, a near-extinct grape variety that is related to Malvasia. Farmed organically, fermented with wild yeasts and unfiltered.
