- Other Information: Lammidia is an exciting and experimental small-scale passion project from two childhood best friends, Marco Giuliani and Davide Gentile located in the small village of Villa Celiera, 700 meters above the hills of Pescara, Italy. True trailblazers, Guiliani and Gentile's winery is in one of their grandmother's old farmhouses. They also don't have formal winemaking training and they don't rely on agronomists or oenologists. Everything they've learned about natural winemaking has been through trial and error. In 2010 their fermentation was so awful, they relied on a local grandma to perform traditional purification rites to get rid of 'the evil eye' that was cursing their grapes. The next year Guiliani and Gentile produced their first wine and Lammidia, translating to 'evil eye' in Abruzzese dialect, was born. Following their motto 'uva e basta!' (grapes and that’s it), Lammidia's grapes are grown biodynamically with no chemicals and no technology and in the cellar only native yeasts are used. For all these reasons, Lammidia is producing some of the most lively natural wines in the game right now, as tasted in this 'Miscela.' Made from a blend of hand harvested Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Pecorino, Passerina, and Malvasia grapes grown in clay and limestone soil. Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts. Unfined, unfiltered, with no added sulphites.
