Julien Schaal 'Rosacker Riesling' 2020
Producer: Julien Schaal
Notes: Rosacker is among the most celebrated of Alsace's Grands Crus vineyards, with descriptions of its wines dating back to 1483. It owes its name to the wild roses, which grow in abundance around the edge of the vineyard. The limestone soils here produce Rieslings that are bone-dry yet which have a rare richness and mouth-filling texture. With great complexity and balance this Organic wine will easily age for two decades. The Rosacker soil is dominated by limestones and are rich in nutrients with calcium and magnesium. This 40 years old vineyard is located on the north of Hunawihr, a small village situated between Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr, at an altitude between 260 and 330 metres.
