- Other Information: Led by brothers Noel and Jair Tellez and their mother Ana Montano, Bichi produces some of the most magical natural wine in Mexico. The Tellez family farm is located in Tecate, among the rugged mountains of Mexico's Baja California Norte. Winemaking in this region dates all the way back to the conquistadors. And the Tellez family are making energetic and fresh new wines from very old recently recovered vineyards there. 'Bichi' means 'naked' in parts of Northern Mexico, an apt name for these expressive wines. This 'Flama Roja' is made with a blend of hand harvested Tempranillo, Nebbiolo, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. De-stemmed and co-fermented in locally made concrete tinajas with 30 days of maceration, raised in a mix of steel tank and used French barrels over winter, and bottled without fining or filtering.
